This was in no way an ordinary engagement shoot. Leah and Cody ain’t normal clients either. They’re amazing college friends – I’ve never not known them together and I’m so excited for next summer when they get married.

Leah is in chiropractic school in San Jose, California (smart choice: it’s warm and beautiful there ALL year round!) so when Cody was out there, between planting and harvest in Jefferson, IA, I made my way out too for an epic three day engagement session. We shot in San Jose (Santana Row – gorgeous!), Baker beach (with a beaitiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge), Point Reyes National Seashore, Big Sur, Monterey, and the famous cypress tree tunnel. Stunning scenery around every corner there – I was in photographer paradise! Sometimes I’d get distracted and shoot the scenery instead of my couple.

Oh, at one point I gave Leah and Cody both a camera and said “take photos of each other” which proved to be quite fun! Keep a look out for those photos in this post – can’t miss them! They’re adorable!
